Noah Berlatsky Chicago Reader Pablo Berger’s Robot Dreams is imaginative, bittersweet, and unrelentingly, almost unbearably, twee. Jun 13, 2024 Full Review Kimberley Jones Austin Chronicle It leaves a lot of room for interpretation – depending on how you come to it, you could read Dog and Robot’s relationship as platonic or romantic, straight or queer – but the takeaway is all tenderness. Rated: 4/5 •  Jun 13, 2024 Full Review Ty Burr Ty Burr's Watch List (Substack) It’s a relationship allegory where the allegory part is more resonant than the story itself and the whole thing struck me as rather ... mild. Rated: 3/4 •  Jun 11, 2024 Full Review Tom Meek Cambridge Day “Robot Dreams” is a heartfelt portrait of loneliness, connection and loyalty. Rated: 3.5/4 •  Jun 17, 2024 Full Review Allyson Johnson But Why Tho? A Geek Community Robot Dreams excels due to its ability to marry magical realism with a grounded emotional core. The story of Dog and Robot is impossibly poignant as we yearn for the two to reunite, their happiness infectious. Mr. Hollywood Beautifully drawn, scored and edited. Even though theres hardly any dialogue its a good film, good story. Its like a silent era film as you have to rely on the visuals to understand the story which is what cinema originally was. Good for the whole family. Side note: I saw this right after the re release of Run Lola Run and I have to say they are great companion pieces. The ending says it all Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/15/24 Full Review Miga Bear Delightful film with a nostalgic backdrop of New York City in the 1980s Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/02/24 Full Review Margaret R a show of humanity by a cast of animals! Superb! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/07/24 Full Review Ryan It was incredible poignant sad and hilarious. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/07/24 Full Review Jadan Y My favorite movie of all time, so unexpected and bittersweet, the animation, character design, and setting accuracy ALONE is incredible and thats not mentioning the misleading and insane reactions the movie will get out of you. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/16/24 Full Review Deniz Matteo A. M The thing that makes robot dreams unique is that it focuses on loosing a friend it shows the harsh reality of both loosing a friend and how harsh society is it shows that it's hard to let someone you love and care about go but sometimes it's for the better for both of you and their new companions Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/16/24 Full Review Read all reviews
